What is an H3 GrainGage?
HarvestMaster has partnered with SCiO to develop a GrainGage that is truly amazing. The H3 Classic, Single, and Twin have all the benefits of the H2 product line but also includes a fully integrated SCiO NIR Sensor. This provides more accurate moisture readings along with protein and oil measurements for many crops. Calibrations are part of the package so you can start getting predictions from day one.
Can an H2 GrainGage be converted into an H3?
Yes! An H2 Classic, Single, and Twin GrainGage can be upgraded to an H3 simply by installing an H2 NIR Upgrade Kit. At a fraction of the cost of other on-combine NIR options, the H3 is the first affordable on-combine NIR solution that comes preloaded with ready-to-use calibrations. To make things even better, we update and maintain the calibrations every year for you.
What crops can be measured with a GrainGage?
Although users calibrate the H2 GrainGage to provide a moisture measurement for a wide variety of crops, the most common are corn, wheat, soybean, barley, oats, canola, and rice. The H3 GrainGage can currently provide NIR measurements for corn (moisture), wheat (moisture/protein), soybean (moisture/protein/oil), and barley (moisture/protein) with more coming in the future. Don’t forget both the H2 and H3 provide the same great plot and test weight for whatever crop you’re harvesting.
What is “Strip Mode”?
Available on the H2 and H3 Classic, Single, and Twin GrainGages, Strip Mode automatically initiates a cycle when the GrainGage fills to a desired weight. This way the operator doesn’t need to worry about overfilling the GrainGage on those high-yielding plots or long strips. Don’t worry, the data is perfectly organized and the software won’t advance to the next plot until you give the command.
Once I have my GrainGage, what sort of Customer Support is available?
HarvestMaster has the best customer service in the industry. When you call our customer service number, a knowledgeable person is quick to respond, eager and able to help with any issue.
What is meant by taking “Sub-Samples”?
When the H2 and H3 Classic, Single, or Twin GrainGage is set for only one measurement per plot (no sub-samples), it utilizes about 4 lbs. of grain for its moisture and test weight measurement. If that specific 4 lb. sample isn’t a good representation of the whole plot, then that single data point may be misleading. When you set the software to take sub-samples, more than one moisture and test weight measurement is taken per plot and the corresponding data points are averaged. This average can provide a better representation of the overall plot.
What is Slope and Motion Compensation?
The H2 and H3 Classic, Single, and Twin GrainGages are equipped with advanced sensors and our patented Slope and Motion software that interprets and compensates for any speed, acceleration, deceleration, slope, and vibration of the combine. This means you don’t need to stop moving and you’ll still get the most accurate plot and test weight available on the market.
