Moisture readings drift

25 Feb 2010

If the moisture readings for each plot slowly drifts from the readings taken during previous plots, and you are sure there should not be that much variance from the previous crop varieties, then you may want to check that the test chamber with moisture sensor has been properly grounded. Without proper grounding, electrical noise can cause the readings to vary from the true percent moisture in the grain.

Additional information for how to modify your on-combine harvest data system to properly ground the test chamber with moisture sensor is available in the following documents.
