Retrieving Harvest Data From FRS

4 Dec 2020

Map Backups Folder

The fastest and easiest way to retrieve harvest data from any current FRS installation is to pull data files from the "Map Backups Folder." FRS automatically generates backups of all map files in a separate folder on the Allegro's hard drive during harvest. The backup map files are in the CSV file format and contain more detailed information than is normally exported by the "Import/Export Utility" in FRS or by the "Datalink for FRS" software. These files contain the recorded data, sensor readings (such as moisture sensor voltages, etc.), cycle time, cycle count, date and time of each cycle, GPS coordinates and any errors that may have occurred while harvesting. The backup file also indicates which moisture curve was used while harvesting, the user’s tare messages, and when the operator exited harvest.

Map backups can be found at the respective locations for each Allegro type as listed below:

Allegro Type

Path(s) to Backups

Allegro CX

My Computer > C_Drive > C_MyDocs

Allegro MX

Start > File Explorer > My Device > My Documents > FRS Maps

Allegro 2

Windows Flag > File Explorer > My Device > My Documents > My FRS Maps

After navigating to the proper path above, the map files can either be copied out to a PC using a USB thumb drive on the Allegro MX & Allegro 2, or through an active Windows Mobile Device Center connection to the Allegro CX while it is in its dock.

Note: Not all USB thumb drives are compatible. For a complete list of compatible USB thumb drives, see USB Flash Drive Compatibility.

Important Information About Logovert Backup File Converter

If the information in the backup files needs to be filtered or converted to show specific information, our "Logovert Backup File Converter" software provides an easy and efficient way to do this.

Logovert Backup File Converter can be downloaded at the following link:

FRS Data Export

Another straightforward way to retrieve field map data is to use the "import/export" utility from within FRS. To export the data using this utility follow these steps:

  1. Open FRS on the Allegro Field PC.
  2. Tap on Setup (or press F3), Database Tools, and then "Export data to CSV."
  3. Tap on the "Map Name:" drop-down box, and then tap on the name of the field map which you would like to export.
  4. Make sure the export file name displayed in the "Filename:" field is similar to the field map name, and that the file name does not contain any non-alphanumeric characters (such as slashes, quote marks, etc.), and then Tap Next (or press F4).
  5. If you have previously exported or attempted to export data from this field map, tap on the "Include previously exported data" checkbox to check the box, and then tap Export (or press F4).

Exported data can be found at the respective locations for each Allegro type as listed below:

Allegro Type Path(s) to Backups
Allegro CX
My Computer > C_Drive > FRS > Export
Allegro MX Start > File Explorer > My Device > My Documents > My FRS Files
Allegro 2 Windows Flag > File Explorer > My Device > My Documents > My FRS Files

After navigating to the proper path above, the exported files can either be copied out to a PC using a USB thumb drive on the Allegro MX & Allegro 2, or through an active Windows Mobile Device Center connection to the Allegro CX while it is in its dock.

DataLink for FRS

Finally, if more advanced features are required when retrieving data from FRS, the "DataLink for FRS" software provides direct data access to the FRS maps database stored on the Allegro Field PC, as well as database clean up and compaction, and more advanced data export features (such as including additional plot identifiers and other data in export files). It is available for download at the bottom of the following webpage: harvestmaster.com/support/article/14647

Note: If Datalink for FRS currently does not work properly for you or fails to function as intended, additional help and support can be found in our Datalink for FRS Repair Tutorial.
